Subteams

NeuroTech@Rice’s initiatives wouldn’t be possible without our five wonderful subteams: hardware, software, conference/events, outreach, and graduate. Each team works to pioneer projects and events in their corresponding speciality, and drive the club’s activities. If you’re interested in joining a subteam, fill out our application here!

Software

Software is in charge of projects involving front- and back-end program design, whether it’s streamlining club software, or creating workshops for the club and community. Software also spreads the word about software-related opportunities and leads hackathon participation. If debugging the intricacies of the brain sounds like fun, consider joining the software team

Hardware

Hardware manages projects like 3D printing, circuit design, soldering, prototyping, and designing workshops for both the club and community! Hardware Team also spearheads competition participation and spreads the word about any and all hardware-related opportunities. If tinkering with the electricity of the brain is up your alley, consider joining the hardware team!

Conferences/Events

Outreach helps plan events, competitions, and conferences for NeuroTech@Rice! These include both our club meetings, along with special events like Neural Networking, our Grad School Panel, and Lab Fair. Outreach also helps manage our journal club! Outreach helps connect club members with events based on their interests and collaborate with the whole club. If you like creating non-neural, but in-person connections, consider joining Conferences and Events!

Outreach

Outreach helps manage external opportunities and events for Rice NeuroTech! This includes advertising the club through social media–check out our Instagram–and managing the Listserv. Outreach connects with guest speakers, departments, faculty, and companies to increase the opportunities for club members while spreading the popularity of NeuroTech@Rice outside of Rice. If you want to transmit information about fantastic opportunities, consider joining outreach!

Graduate

Our graduate subteam collaborates and represents the graduate and postgraduate population at Rice! This subteam offers feedback, advice, and perspective to the club–whether it’s through mentorship for projects or insights for overall club management. The members of our graduate committee often serve in mentorship roles for the undergraduate students and serve as guest speakers for events like our grad school panels. If you’re a graduate student or postdoc interested in being a mentor or being involved in neurotechnology pursuits, consider joining our graduate student team!
